APARNA S NAIR

Aparna S Nair, hailing from Calicut district of Kerala, India, is a great lover of nature and it is reflected in most of her Water Colour paintings. She has secured around 200 accolades in various district and state level painting competitions including First prize in Kerala State School youth festival in the year 2004.

She started painting at the age of 9, and her source of inspiration is her little sister Suparna S Nair. " I used to watch my sister painting using water colour and thought of trying it out. Then I found that I can also do it" says Aparna. She learnt the basic principles of painting from her Guru Artist K. Janardanan, Retd. Director of Art and Photography department, University of Calicut.

Her favourite media is water colour and she finds great pleasure in painting landscapes, wild life, etc., in water colour. She is studying Engineering in Biotechnology and aims at a career as a scientist. She says that painting is her hobby and indulges in it whenever she gets time.
