APARNA S NAIR
Aparna S Nair, hailing from Calicut district of Kerala, India, is a great lover of nature and it is reflected in most of her Water Colour paintings. She has secured around 200 accolades in various district and state level painting competitions including First prize in Kerala State School youth festival in the year 2004.
She started painting at the age of 9, and her source of inspiration is her little sister Suparna S Nair. " I used to watch my sister painting using water colour and thought of trying it out. Then I found that I can also do it" says Aparna. She learnt the basic principles of painting from her Guru Artist K. Janardanan, Retd. Director of Art and Photography department, University of Calicut.
Her favourite media is water colour and she finds great pleasure in painting landscapes, wild life, etc., in water colour. She is studying Engineering in Biotechnology and aims at a career as a scientist. She says that painting is her hobby and indulges in it whenever she gets time.

Suparna S Nair is well known among children as she is an exceptionally talented artist - Painter- who had been a consistent winner in most children's painting competitions and owns an identity in her paintings. Words are not sufficient to describe about this born artist, who started drawing and painting at the age of 2 and a half. That is even before knowing how to write. Till today, at the age 15, she had won more than 400 prizes in various painting competitions (water colour, Pencil Drawing) in international, national, state and District levels and had secured several gold medals for best child artist. She is a recipient of CCRT Scholarship award for painting, from Centre for Cultural Resource and training, under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
She paints with her left hand and uses the right hand for writing and all other activities. Her left hand is reserved for painting. She lives in Calicut city, in the state of " god's own country"- Kerala, India. She is studying in 10 th standard, in presentation higher secondary school, Calicut. Her father is Satheesh.P.G and mother Beena. Her elder sister Aparna S Nair is a known painter, and B.Tech., Biotechnology student at Vivekanandha college for Engineering for women.
As she had won many awards and prizes, only very few are mentioning below:
Four times Silver medal in Shankar's International children's painting competition successively in the years 2002, 2003,2004, and 2005.
The Hindu 'Young World' painting competition - 6 times. 1 st prize in 2001, 1 st prize in 2003, 2nd prize in 2005, 1st prize in 2006, 2nd prize in 2007.
First and Kalagaurav award in the national level competition conducted by Bharatiya Manav Vikas Samaj Kendra, Aurangabad. (1999-2000)
State youth festival 2006-07 - 2 nd in Water colour painting , and Pencil drawing.
Balarama All Kerala painting competition- Largest on the spot painting competition in Asia- First prize successively in the year 2001, 2002, 2003. Most outstanding entry gold medal in 2002 .
Camlin-Navatharangam all Kerala painting competition - 4 times gold medal - in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2006.
Also she had won many state level water colour painting competitions conducted by Dept. of Forests and wildlife Govt. of Kerala since 1998, CH memorial gold medal Thrice, Sankers all Kerala painting competitions, Gold medal in State painting competitions conducted by Kerala state council for child welfare, Oisca International,All India Camel colour contest, and there are numerous other accolades. She has completed Masters diploma in Multimedia and Animation. She is an exceptional child involved in many activities.
